I started my athletic career about 80 pounds over weight and with a significant knee problem.  Through years of hard work and dedication I have gone from obese couch potato to Ironman triathlete, ultra-cyclist, and ultra-marathoner.  Due to my knee problems, which are hereditary, I struggled to stay healthy and avoid injury.  This issue led me to study the art and science of training for triathlon and endurance sport.  I took care to learn what I was doing and to do it in a way to avoid hurting myself.  Before I knew it I was an expert in the field and I was informally coaching several other triathletes and runners.  Finally, my wife agreed to let me coach triathletes, endurance athletes, and those seeking to lose weight.  I take great pride in the successes of those I coach and work diligently to provide the best possible service.  I believe in an athlete centered coaching philosophy in which I work with my athletes to build the best possible plan for each person individually.
